Iceland deals with the fallout as its grossly enlarged banking system begins to stumble. The resemblence to Ireland is striking. Many Icelanders now want to join the Euro for monetary stability. Hmm. :-|

Here he notes the risk posed by credit contraction to any banking system, "progressively more difficult for people to service their debts because, when the money supply is shrinking, there's less liquidity available out of which they can make the payments as they fall due".
